DUI WET LAB
*FULFILLS THE REQUIRED ONE HOUR OF COMPETENCE*
Want to drink while fulfilling a required MCLE credit? Want to go through a series of DUI tests? Want to find out how much you can drink before being legally drunk?
Officers from the Newport Beach Police Department will conduct a controlled experiment called a "wet lab," to show the negative effects of alcohol on driving.
During this wet lab, 5 to 8 volunteers will be given alcohol, field sobriety tests, and breathalyzer tests at regular intervals to show you the effects of alcohol on driving abilities. This course not only fulfills the entire one-hour requirement for competence credit, but it will also educate you on the increasing levels of alcohol impairment and the tests used to determine a DUI.
Wet lab volunteers will be required to bring a designated driver or use a car service.
*You may note your interest in serving as a wet lab volunteer, but selection is not guaranteed.
The MCLE program will begin at 5:30 p.m. There will be networking intermissions featuring drinks and hors d'oeuvres during the two-hour course.
Space is limited. Please register by January 25th.
All proceeds collected will go to OCAABA.
This activity has been approved for Minimum Continuing Legal Education by the State Bar of California in the amount of 1.0 hour of CLE (including 1.0 hour in Competence Issues).
